Dear Parents,

            This year we will be engaged in a number of activities, which I plan to document on many forms of media, including videotape and digital images.  I'd like permission to use photos / video clips on our classroom websites located at:

The images & video will be used as a tool for communication to parents and students about our activities.  No student names will be used in any manner, only images & video!  Student “nicknames” or initials will be the only identification used for photo tagging purposes.  I am the Chairperson of the school improvement subcommittee for technology.  Our major project that was undertaken last year was to revise our school website.  Thus, my classroom website has been a testing grounds for many of the concepts and ideas we would like to integrate into the school site.  If you have any questions, please contact me at your convenience. 

We will be heavily involved this year with technology integration projects with students from other states and countries.  My class has a very strong web presence, but web safety and Internet security are thoroughly discussed, reinforced, stressed, and expected from students and myself.  Students will be participating in the Michigan Attorney General’s CSI (Cyber Safety Initiative) Program.

If you haven't had the opportunity to check out the website, I encourage you to do so. The website has been running strong for eight years now.  It has a number of links to educational websites, weekly homework assignment listings, the monthly lunch menu, and a monthly calendar, along with a whole host of other information.
